  • National Sickie Day: Strategies to Maintain a Healthy Workplace

The first Monday in February is known as National Sickie Day in the UK. On this day, more workers call in sick than on any other day of the year. This trend has significant implications for cleaning companies, as a higher rate of absenteeism can lead to increased demand for their services. To help reduce the impact of National Sickie Day on the workplace, here are 5 strategies worth considering: Encourage good hygiene practices: You can help reduce the spread of illness by promoting good hygiene practices among workers. This may include providing hand sanitisers, promoting frequent hand washing, and encouraging the use of tissues to cover coughs and sneezes. Deep cleaning: Workplace can offer deep cleaning services to disinfect workspaces and common areas. This can help to reduce the risk of illness and promote a healthy work environment. Increased staffing levels: We can increase our staffing levels on National Sickie Day to ensure that we are able to meet the increased demand for our services. This may include the deployment of additional cleaning staff to cover for absent workers. Flexible scheduling: To accommodate the needs of businesses during National Sickie Day, Workplace can offer flexible scheduling options. This may include early morning or late night cleaning sessions to minimise disruption to the business. Focus on high-touch areas: We can focus our efforts on high-touch areas, such as door handles, light switches, and common areas, to reduce the spread of germs. By taking a targeted approach, we can help to keep the workplace clean and healthy. In addition to increased demand for our services, Workplace must also consider the health and safety implications of National Sickie Day. With more workers calling in sick, there is a higher risk of the spread of illness in the workplace. We must ensure that our staff are properly trained in infection control procedures, and that they use appropriate disinfectants to prevent the spread of germs. National Sickie Day has significant implications for cleaning companies. To meet the increased demand for their services, and to ensure the health and safety of workers, cleaning companies must be prepared to take proactive steps. Whether it's through increased staffing levels, or a focus on infection control, cleaning companies have an important role to play in maintaining a clean and healthy workplace. Don't let National Sickie Day catch your workplace off guard! Contact us today to schedule a deep cleaning or increase your staffing levels to ensure a clean and healthy work environment for your employees.

  • Cleaning Green: Our Commitment to Sustainability in Commercial Cleaning

At Workplace, we don't just clean - we clean with purpose. We take immense pride in delivering top-tier cleaning services while also championing environmental responsibility. Our Current Product Range: Selden V-Mix Our cleaning arsenal is packed with a superhero lineup, and the star of the show is the Selden V-Mix range. From general commercial cleaning to hand washing, toilet and washroom cleaning to heavy-duty degreasing tasks, Selden V-Mix has it all. These products not only meet EU regulations but also boast the prestigious WEIR (Wright Environmental Impact Rating) certification. Impressive, right? WEIR Certification: An Environmental Commitment The WEIR certification evaluates the environmental impact of each product from formulation to disposal. And guess what? All our Selden V-Mix products are wearing a badge of honor – they have a low environmental impact rating. We're talking about cleaning products that clean up after themselves, environmentally speaking. Controlled Dose Concentrates Control costs and eliminates waste. The Vmix range of controlled dose concentrates gives you all the cost-effective cleaning power you need in one neat little package. A single bottle of 1 litre concentrate achieves significant cost-per-use savings compared to standard 5 litre bottle products, yet weighs less, is easier to store, easier to handle and more environmentally friendly to transport. Most importantly, there’s no chance of pouring money away through incorrect dosage. A simple 10ml squeeze-and-fill chamber eliminates product wastage and ensures accurate dosing first time, every time. The handy-size 1 litre bottle will fill up to 100 triggers or 50 buckets. Consistency and Quality Assurance But here's the real magic trick: sustainability without compromising quality. Our clients have enjoyed the magic of Selden V-Mix for years, and these products have never disappointed. So, you get pristine cleanliness without the guilt – it's like having your eco-cake and eating it too. Continuous Improvement We don't rest on our laurels; we keep the wheels of progress turning. While Selden V-Mix already shines bright on the sustainability stage, we're always on the lookout for new, even greener products. Our goal? To reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining those squeaky-clean standards you love. Aerosol-Free Cleaning Speaking of eco-friendly, none of our cleaning products are delivered in aerosol form. We're not fans of releasing harmful emissions into the atmosphere or creating unnecessary waste. So, when we say clean, we mean green too. We're grateful for your partnership and trust in Workplace. When you choose us, you're not just getting a clean workspace; you're helping build a greener, more sustainable future. We're here to answer any questions or dive deeper into our cleaning materials. Together, we'll keep making a positive difference for sustainability and a cleaner environment. In a world that's becoming more aware of its environmental impact, Workplace is leading the charge towards a cleaner, greener, and wittier future. • Festive Spending and Staying within Budget

Tis’ the season to be ….. broke! Festive Spending is hard enough and what with a Recession hovering over everyone, staying within a budget at this time can really take its toll. Not only do we all have to keep up with the rising costs of energy that have hit all households, but we don’t want to disappoint others and not come up with goodies on Christmas Day. Let’s be mindful of all at this time, when many are fortunate to be with family and friends celebrating, laughing, eating and drinking, there are plenty of people who are not looking forward to the festivities. Shopping is not what the festivities are supposed to represent. A recent Radio 2 programme discussed the spirit of the holidays and how important it is to remember family, friends and neighbours, not just with a big gift wrapped present, but with what they may truly appreciate, whether that be a cooked meal, a chat and a cuppa, a catch-up telephone call or a stroll around the park. Little things can really mean a lot. Here at Workplace, we know it is “more important than ever” to keep in mind our employees and that’s why we not only support the Living Wage Foundation, but we encourage other companies to do the same. Let’s continue to be mindful of others.
