WORKPLACE CELEBRATES LIVING WAGE RECOGNTION

The Living Wage Foundation is pleased to announce that WORKPLACE has become a Recognised Service Provider working alongside the Living Wage Foundation.

The Living Wage commitment will see WORKPLACE offer a Living Wage option for each and every request for tender. This will mean that even more organisations can consider paying all of their contracted staff a wage that meets the cost of living. Recognised Service Providers also commit to pay the real Living Wage to all staff working for their core business.

The London Living Wage is currently £9.75 per hour and covers all boroughs in Greater London. The UK Living Wage for outside of London is currently £8.45 per hour. These figures are set annually by the Resolution Foundation.

The Living Wage Foundation recognises and celebrates the leadership shown by employers across the UK. Currently almost 3000 employers commit to paying all of their directly employed and contracted staff the real Living Wage as part of our accredited employer network. 75 Recognised Service Providers work with us to offer Living Wage options for contracted staff, ensuring a real Living Wage is always possible when outsourcing services.

Recognised Service Providers are highlighting the benefits of the Living Wage at every possible opportunity. Managing Director, Stephen Guthrie said, “A fair rate of pay results in greater staff productivity, increased motivation and in turn company loyalty. Of course, we need to convince others of the advantages, especially clients who will make their own decision as to whether to choose to pay it. As a responsible, ethical and open-minded business, supporting the Living Wage makes sense within our industry.”

Living Wage Foundation Director, Katherine Chapman said: “The benefits the Living Wage brings to staff and business are clear. I welcome the leadership shown by WORKPLACE on this important issue.”
